Is PreferredMedicalCard an insurance program?
PreferredMedicalCard is NOT an insurance program. PreferredMedicalCard is a health savings program that discounts most health costs without medical histories, physicals, underwriting, waiting periods, or usage limits. In addition, PreferredMedicalCard membership includes all the members of the cardholder's household at no extra cost.

What is the difference between PreferredMedicalCard and the CARExpress Card?
There is no difference. PreferredMedicalCard is a trusted partner of CARExpress. May I order an extra PreferredMedicalCard card for my spouse or child?
You may order additional PreferredMedicalCard cards by contacting PreferredMedicalCard Customer Service at 1-866-305-SAVE. The additional cards will always show the primary cardholder's name and account number; they will not be customized with each family member's name.

Will my doctor be familiar with the PreferredMedicalCard medical discount program?
Your doctor will be familiar with our national network names, which will be imprinted on your membership card. If your doctor has any questions , simply ask him or her to contact Customer Service at the number listed on the back of the PreferredMedicalCard card.

Are discounts the same at every physician, clinic, hospital, etc. in the PreferredMedicalCard network?
No, they are not. Costs vary depending on the service provided and the geographic location where the service is rendered. Some programs offer fixed fee discounts based on local retail rates (i.e. dental fees vary by area of the country). Other programs, like prescription, have the same discount throughout the entire country.
PreferredMedicalCard has a specific discount for each procedure and for each provider, so there is never any question about how much you will save.

Can I find out discounts on prescriptions in advance?
If you would like to know the exact price of a specific drug, please contact our customer service staff at info@PreferredMedicalCardhealth.com or 1-866-305-SAVE. You will need to provide the prescription name, quantity (number of pills) and dosage (milligrams per pill) to our Customer Service Representative. All of this information should be printed on your prescription bottle.

What medications can be ordered through the Mail Order Pharmacy?
Maintenance medications for which you have a regular, ongoing prescription. You will save more if you have a prescription for at least a three month supply. If you ask your doctor, he will usually be able to provide you such a prescription.

You may use the Provider Locator on our website to find a health care provider in your area. Type in your Zip Code and choose a category of medical service from the drop-down menu. You will see a list of providers that meet these criteria.

Use the Provider Locator on our website to determine whether your doctor is part of the PreferredMedicalCard network. Type in the doctor's last name, and PreferredMedicalCard will search its provider database for your doctor.

Can I nominate my local doctor or other provider for the PreferredMedicalCard network?
PreferredMedicalCard members are always welcome to recommend providers to the PreferredMedicalCard network. Please use the Provider Referral Form on our website or call a Customer Service Representative Toll-Free at 1-866-305-SAVE, and we will contact your provider about joining our network. It generally takes 2-3 months to credential, contract, and enroll a new provider in the PreferredMedicalCard network.

What if I need to visit a doctor or have a prescription filled while I am on vacation?
Simply present your PreferredMedicalCard card at a participating provider, and you will receive PreferredMedicalCard discounts just as you would at home. The PreferredMedicalCard card is honored at more than 1,000,000 providers nationwide. If you are planning a trip, it's a good idea to use the Provider Locator in advance to determine providers in the area you will be visiting.

Unlike insurance, there are no restrictions on access to medical services due to health conditions. PreferredMedicalCard welcomes all persons with uninsurable illnesses including terminal cancer, AIDS, muscular dystrophy, and other catastrophic illnesses.
